Ethernet
A networking standard created by Xerox that is used to designate a method to allow computers to communicate with each other over a wired, using Ethernet cable, network. The first Ethernet standard had transfer speeds of 10Mbps and was called 10BaseT. Now the current standard is the ability to send data at either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps, and is called 10/100BaseT, or 1,000 Mbps which is called Gigabit Ethernet.
