Safe Mode

Safe mode is a way of booting into Windows that loads only the most basic applications and drivers for your computer to work. When in this mode you can diagnose problems that you may be having with your computer, without having the interference and clutter of all the programs that normally run.

You may also be prompted to boot into safe mode. One such situation would be when you turn on your computer and Windows boots up loading many applications and hardware drivers. If while booting up it freezes or fails, it will upon the next reboot prompt you to boot up into safe mode in order to diagnose the problem.
