Originally, a Hacker was defined as one who is enthusiastic about computers, whether that be programming or getting into the guts of a computer to see how it works. In the past being referred to as a Hacker was a compliment.

In current times the term Hacker has taken on a derogative mean that represents a person who attempts to gain unauthorized access to computers.
