BleepingComputer.com: Nvidia Purevideo And Nero 7 Ultra -will They Work Together?

I have a GeForce 8600 video card and it boasts this PureVideo technology to enhance DVD playback. I thought that by simply buying the card would be all I needed to do to enjoy the benfits of this PureVideo stuff but now I'm not too sure. I also have Nero7 Ultra Enhanced which comes with Nero Showtime , Nero's media player.
I notice that Nero Showtime has a box in the options that is to enable hardware acceleration, so if I enable it does that mean my PureVideo technology will now be enabled ?
I am confused because I read somewhere that I need to buy NVidia's PureVideo decoder separately and that it doesnt work with some other dvd players such as PowerDVD . I am pretty sure that Nero also supports all of the newest formats and I dont want to buy an encoder if I dont need one.
I went to the NVidia website and it says that the decoder is a plug-in designed to work with windows media player(WMP) and is windows media center edition certified but I really don't want to use WMP as my primary DVD player.
Does anybody know anything about the purevideo technology and what I need to do to get it to work ? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I found out finally that Nero does support PureVideo, now I just want to make sure that all I need to do to enable it is to enable hardware acceleration in the Nero player options. Anybody know for sure how it works?
