I assumed that it was the power supply. I put in a new power supply and then plugged it in. This time around, the green light on the motherboard remained lit and the fans worked but I could not turn the computer off and there were NO beeps and the monitor was blank. Is this a faulty power supply or is my situation worse? MOD EDIT: Moved to more appropriate forum ~ stevealmighty This post has been edited by stevealmighty: Jul 10 2007, 10:27 AM |

You said "beeps" so let's start there. When your computer first starts you should hear a single beep this is a BIOS post beep. Depending on the make of your BIOS different series of beeps can mean different things. What are your computer specs.?

When you say that you could not turn it off does that include both the normal shut going from start and pressing the power button on the case and holding it?
When you replaced the PSU was there a p4 connector for the CPU that got missed. -------------------- Supposing is good, but finding out is better. -Mark Twain
