Problem With HP Deskjet 3940 Will not print off internet

I have had this printer for about a year and have never been able to print anything from online, like forms etc. I am using windows XP home, with SP2 and a router connection with AT&T yahoo! DSL. I am also using IE7. When I attempt to print off the internet, it prints only some bold type on the page, in balck and does not see anything else. I uninstalled my printer totally and reinstalled it with the disc. Maybe the default settings are not working with IE7 and someone can direct me to the appropiate site to fix the problem. I would appreciate any help, and again the printer is an HP diesjet 3960. I have searched HP without success..
Thank you....

I'm not familiar with HP printers and I don't use a printer that often. I would suggest reinstalling the printer and software to see if that helps. also double-check the printer settings in Window Perhaps posting in the hardware or XP forums might garner more responses
