I need a new anti-virus/firewall program for my computer which I work and game on. I had to reformat my computer due to ZoneAlarm wouldn't let me use any chat programs anymore. What do you recommend that I use? It can be commercial.

Thank you,
Alendar

Two very good firewalls are Comodo and Sygate, both of which are free.
There are also several good free A-Vs, such as AVG, available.

For Member-recommended applications, look under the appropriate topics in this post:

I use avast home av and comodo firewall pro. Both are free and easy to set up, and work great together.
Avast 4.7 Home,Comodo BOClean 4.24,AVG7.5 Free,A-Squared 3.0 Free, Spyware Blaster,Spybot Search & Destroy, Comodo Firewall Pro, AVG Anti-Rootkit

uhhh yeah ... used zone it sucked and messed up stuff ...

comodo is good doesnt block or slow down anything i would use a good anti virus and anti spyware tho

AVG- Anti-Spyware
Ad-Aware SE pro
Ad-Watch SE pro
Nod32-Anti-virus

thats my setup ... i added Nod32 cause i got it for free , as with the profesion versions of Ad-aware and ad-watch ... but the pro versions of those dont really make it better just like auto updating and stuff .

note nod32 is good but very confusing so w.e

go for what u like
