Boot Error is it the hard drive ?

I have a HP Pavilion ze4400 Notebook PC (Intel) and on boot right after the HP splash screen it goes on to a black screen that says "A disk read error has occurred press ctrl+alt+delete to reset" and reseting the computer does nothing.

Can you get into the bios? On this model it should be {F2} when the hp splash screen is up. On most HP laptops there is a diagnostics utility built into the Bios. Run this and let us know
