Hi

My Computer turns itself off frequently giving the following messages in the Event Viewer

Event ID: 7026
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
PCIIde

Event ID: 7000
The BDRSDRV service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.

This usually occurs when my son is either:
Playing games
Using messenger
On MySpace

It does not occur during normal surfing or other use.

My Computer is Windows Home SP2

Any ideas on how to rectify this.

Erik

Some mornings I wake up grumpy, on others I let her sleep in.

bdrsdrv.sys is a component of BitDefender. I am going to move this to the appropriate forum.

Yup. No good.
I still think it is a hardware problem but they moved me here.
