I really need some help here with my comp. i am trying to fix it myself as i have no money to buy a new one or get this one repaired by a professional. I have Windows 98
the problems i have with it are:
1. Computer freezes up constantly. Is very slow.
2. I have the following running in task manager and can't stop these processes: admanctl, adman keep.
3. Popups
I have run spybot and adaware,(they will only run in safemode) and pandasoft av. .
Could someone please help me out here, I am not very computer literate but can follow simple directions. Thank you.

Hi
Boot into SAFE MODE . go to START>RUN . Then type in MSCONFIG . Go to the START UP tab. Uncheck EVERYTHING. Check the APPLY button then OK. Reboot back into safe mode. Run ADWARE then SPYBOT again. I find the running AVG 7 free edtion from DOS is very effective . Hope this helps . Also I like the Google Toolbar as an effective popup blocker. Hope this helps.

Go into Safe mode, run disk cleanup, then scandisk and finally run defrag.

Hi kchaopao
Concerning admanctl, adman keep, these are started from C:\Program Files\Admanager Controller. Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and highlight Admanager if its there and click remove. Then open Windows Explorer and find the Admanager Controller folder. Delete this folder and the pop ups should stop.
Go to this site and under the try it column download and run Spy Sweeper and let it clean everything it finds.
Please post back with the results of the Spy Sweeper scan.
