My work computer is running Windows Vista Home Basic. Recently the computer did a Windows Update (automatically), after which I noticed that all of my saved documents had disappeared. Also, my desktop looked different, and it's possible that certain programs were gone. I did a System Restore, going back to a point before the Windows Update, and fortunately I was able to get everything back. My question is this: Is there any way I can prevent this from happening in the future -- or at least help to minimize the risk of its happening again?
(It was not my desire to have Windows Vista as the OS on my new work computer, BTW.
)
Thank you very much!
