Almost everytime I close Internet Explorer, an error box appears. It usually says,

IEXPLORE.EXE - Application Error

The instruction at (series of numbers/letters) referenced memory at (series of numbers/letters). The memory could be not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program.

I don't understand why I always get the error box AFTER IE has closed.

If you could give a concrete and complete example of the error (instruction, memory address referenced) it would help narrow down the problem.
Cheers,

Please take a look in the event viewer to get the full error message:
Go to Start > Control panel > Administrative tools > Event viewer > look in the system section.

That will be of more help
