Ok So...takes webpages ages to load (using FF but same on all browsers) and when using IM replies are delayed...

Ping statistics generally 1 packet lost each time, with average time ranging from 34ms to 65ms

Using Wireless from BT Voyager router, mum's connected to this too using USB (haven't had time to swop to ethernet) Anyway, her connections quite slow too (I blame this on her PC ha, the HJ team are helping with this) and she uses the BT Yahoo browser.

Gah!

I've tried doing the old "Unplug for 3" but doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Getting pretty fed up with it, feel like throwing the lappy across the room!

BTW it's an built in wireless connection....

Solutions?

If the issues with your mum's system include malware "phoning home", this would account for some of the slowness on your network (and the packet loss/excessive ping times). Basically it's like a DOS attack - if the malware is hogging all of the network traffic, there's no room for your traffic.
