Every time I try to uninstall F.E.A.R. from VISTA I get this error message:

Error Code: -5009 : 0x8002802b
Error Information:
>Ctor\ObjectWrapper.cpp (163)
>Ctor\ObjectWrapper.cpp (391)
>Kernel\Component.cpp (1163)
>Kernel\CABFile.cpp (384)
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (1526)
PAPP:FEAR

$11.0.0.28844
@Windows (6000) IE 7.0.6000.16386

I do not know why this happens. I am also having the same problem when I uninstall CIVILISATION IV.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you remove other programs? I just uninstalled FEAR and Extraction Point from my system without issue. I'd suspect that it was a problem with your uninstaller and would suggest that you run SFC.EXE /SCANNOW from the Run dialog. If that doesn't work, you may have to reinstall FEAR to see if that will fix it.

Thanks, I have been able to uninstall other programs without a drama, just these two are giving me trouble. I will try reinstalling them and see how I go.

Here's something funny, I can not only uninstall F.E.A.R., but I can not even reinstall it. When I insert the disc, it only asks me if I want to Play or use the READ ME file. Go figure. LOL

Hmmm???? This link may have some help in it (didn't read it all):
http://www.tweakguides.com/FEAR_3.html

Otherwise you'll be stuck with diving into the directory structure of your hard drive and into the registry to remove all traces of it. If you go this route, please be sure to backup everything that you remove. You never know when some well-intentioned removal will actually hose things up for you!

Good luck!

Thanks John. I will research that site and see what goes. Other than that, it looks like plan B.
