Photoshop 6.0 compatibility

Can some one tell me , is Photoshop 6.0 is compatible with Win XP Sp2.
I have an old CD of photoshop 6.0, which I want to install in my new computer.

since I am not sure whether Photoshop 6.0 will run in XP I have not installed it as yet.

Please advise

Well sorry,im afraid it is not compatible with XP looking at the system requirements
But...However i tried installing some softwares that work even if they don't list XP as compatible

Go ahead and install. If it is not supported, you will be prompt with error.

According to this site it is compatible with Vista. And if it's compatible with Vista I assume it would also work with XP.

I think there is an option to change the compatibility mode of .exe files within their properties.

You could try that if it doesn't work on XP.

I've seen this topic discussed multiple times also.

I once had a similar question about compatibility, but with a different program.

I right clicked on the .exe file of the program and changed the compatibility to an older version of windows and it worked.

Maybe it won't be the same for you, who knows.

I just thought i'd let you know, see if it helps.

Thanks guys for your reply. I will try it. However what I am afraid of is that will it do damage to the registry or system files?
Do I need to make a system restore point before I try it?

Don't worry about messing up your registry. If it does not support then you can jolly well revert the installation halfway through.
