Hi all

I seem to have developed a problem with MS Outlook 2003. It failed to open in normal windows and failed also in Safe Mode. - Basically the message is the usual ".......failed to open......"

Additionally it asked to run the "Diagnose and Restore" (I think that's what's its called) - which I clicked YES. It ran, but to no avail.

So I took a screen shot of the error log (as seen below).

(NB. The screenshots have been reduced for some reason, so at the top of each screenshot is a black bar "Click To View Full Image)"

I then booted into safe mode, and ran HJT, followed by Spybot and AVG AntiSpyware, and also Advanced Windows Care.

I then ran another HJT to see if there were any differences. I can post these HJT logs if required to the HJT forum.

I then went into Event Viewer and found nothing but "Errors" and "Warnings". I have taken screen shots - maybe they can help to find the Outlook problem.

If there is any other info that I could submit, then please let me know.

Hopefully, someone can work their way through this and help to solve the problem.

Thanks all.
Nat

nat,

Since you have an open HJT log posted in the HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum, you shouldn't make any changes to your system.
That could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.

At this point, the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

I'm closing this topic until you are cleared by the HJT Team.
If, after your log has been cleaned, you still need help, please PM a Moderator and we will re-open this topic.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a PM.
