When I Turn My Computer On... It Loads Windows XP Normally It Automatically Log's In To My Account But, The Start Bar and Desktop Icons Won't Appear... I Click Ctrl+Alt+Delete So I Can Log In My Account Again. Then It All Works, Start Bar Does Appear and Desktop Icons As Well. What's Going Wrong? Thanks. -andresmtz |

You can try this fix from Kelly's Korner (#195 on the right):
Restore Desktop Icons and Taskbar To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file, and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done. NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script Safe", or similar technology enabled. These scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry. This post has been edited by tg1911: Jan 17 2005, 08:00 PM -------------------- I love being married.

It seems like it doesn't logon correctly with your autologon but works when you manually log on. What are you using to automatically log on? Have you tried removing the auto logon to see if it boots normally the first time?

Good tip, Notorious
10 days might be enough to square things away if/when questions arise surrounding the mysterious winXP and it's cloaked-in-riddles "sibling" Service Pack 2. Thanks for the info as well, andresmtz Questions do lead eventually to answers I think. Go to Optimizer --> Click on System repair--> In system Repair window select upper right option System Repair--> Repair "Taskbar/Start Menu"
I think that will fix your problem.. -------------------- ![]() Down in the bayou, Bubba called an attorney and asked, "Is it true they're suin' the cigarette companies for causing people to get cancer?
