My PC won't boot up. First it would boot up and the windows loading screen would come on as usual, but instead of it going to my desktop a screen would come up asking did I want to put the PC in safe mode and a few other safe mode options or back to its last known configuration. No Matter what I pick the PC will shut down. All of this began happening last week. Now when I try to start up the PC I only get LED lights on the modem. My monitor is working properly, but something is wrong with the modem. I don't know what to do. I have an Intel PC. Please help me!!!!!

We'll need the exact make and model of your computer to provide more specific information. Do you have an XP installation CD or a system restore CD?
Try disconnecting everything that's attached to the computer (except the keyboard) - even remove the mouse. Then reboot and see if you can get into it.
