My OS is XP SP2

I dont know why but today my PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K16RS dvd device is not recognisable !
I dont have it in MY Computer and in my Device Manager seems that "A Driver is Activated Again" (?) and appears with a yellow "!".

I search ALL the web for a new or an older driver but i find nothing again and again.
I also checked Acer website but has no drivers.
In driver.com i found nothing
In driveragent.com i found nothing

Please help me ...
I will be in your need if u want some details of my machine or my peripherals.

TY in advance..

Ok lets start from the top..

What kind of computer or laptop is it?

You stated an Acer what model is it?

Does the computer/laptop detect the drive in the bios?

With that information we can try to figure out whether the drive is bad or not. If the computer doesn't know its there neither will windows

It a Laptop Acer Aspire Series 5100
AMD Turion 64
512 DDR2 RAM
ATi RADEON X Press
TOSHIBA hard disk
and the problem: Pioneer Dvd-rw Dvr-k16rs
WINDOWS XP Service Pack 2

--------

Problem started without messin up with hardware.. and i noticed that today when I 've put a DVD movie to watch and didnt react.

Yes, in BIOS the device is viewed.

--------

I tried via Device manager to delete IDE/ATAPI controllers, indeed when i rebooted Windows found them as new device, but the problem insists.

-------

I have never done a format yet to my laptop - Its nearly 3 months old.

You need more information?

Its only 3 months old?.. Its under warranty you should take it to a shop... The drive is likely damaged since the bio's recognises it and it won't read anything. You could try a system restore but you will loose all of your data. There may be others with more suggestions.
