QUOTE Oh right, CD-ROM So you mean to say you have a CD-ROM drive and have a CD-disk that won't work? Check the disk it might be DVD instead of CD type Have you newly bought the disk? Is the disk old? Is there any scratches, dust on it? (that you may want to clean in order it to work with a soft cloth to wipe it out) This post has been edited by Commander Gman: May 10 2007, 10:52 PM -------------------- It's cold in here... |

If it's not reading any disk the drive might be bad. If so, you can get a new one fairly cheap nowadays.newegg.com has several and they are not hard to replace.

I had a similar problem with my cd drive not reading a manufacturers software disk. When I get new software, the first thing I do is burn at least 2 backup copies of the disk. When I put in one of my burned copies, the disk got read and I was able to install my software.

Sorry for the late reply, had to go on vacation about 6 days
There may be a damage history on the drive or simply its so old that it got worn out or the lens of the drive is damaged or anything of it Consider yourself buying a new one as what Wildabeast says to clear things up But i recommend a COMBO drive with high writing & reading speeds Hope you get the job done -Gman -------------------- It's cold in here... |
