Yahoo Calendar

I have a yahoo email address and use the yahoo calendar. There is an option to get emails reminders for the events on the calendar. I chose the option of being reminded 1 day before but nothing happens.Can anyone suggest a solution? I'm sure that it worked for me in the distant past on a previous computer!
