Old U.S. Navy IT experience, Mainframe and LAN ops from 81-86. A long series of dead-end jobs where I was pinned as IT delegate with reporting & backup duties, usually. Recently laid off then pursued and got an entry-level help desk position. Have had some Active Directory experience, but have mixed platforms to deal with, Windows Server 2000 and 2003, XP, Vista, OSX, Linux. Contract IT company with 28 clients and all of their varying management styles. I need to be up to speed in a hurry and can't always pick the brains of co-workers who know these systems better, so I'm hoping to pick brains here. Cheers!

Howdy y'all! I'm Kimber and my bleeping computer has been giving me problems for almost ten days now and I've been trying to fix it myself... because I've always been able to fix it in the past. I came across this site many times while doing Google searches for my computer related problems and finally decided to ask for some help. Hopefully I didn't mess anything up by trying to fix it myself... whistling.gif I'm just a lowly home computer user with about 10 years of computer experience.

I absolutely love this site. I have used it for a source of information for quite some time now. I just recently got back online after a 6-7 month period of no internets! It was horrible! So hi and thanks to everyone who put so much time into those tutorials they are great!

I learned the basics of programming (yes, a pun) back in the 70's,
when tapes and and cards were being used for Fortran and Cobol.
(Dating myself... not as much fun as being married)...

First home computer was a Vic20... and drooled over the Kaypro & Osborne ...

First online BBS experience with GEnie (where I helped with the admin of one of their boards)

I have been building and modding since the big debate was whether RLL was a reliable alternative to MFM, and 10meg hard drives cost as much as TB drives do now... (and I still have some of my earlier DOS machines)... I never did "bleeding edge"...

First computer game was Bard's Tale...
(Favorite was NWN... favorite because of tools to write your own adventures...)

First Virus caught was Michelangelo, (from a purchased Floppy!)

I am a hobbiest, not a Tech Pro,
but I have sometimes helped people with their issues.
Came here in hopes of learning better how to use (and help others) with some alti-malware utilities.

Don't have much experience, but my job forced me to self learn a lot, and now people come to me for help hysterical.gif . I'e been having probs w/my laptop and the trail led me here for more "self learning". I actually am kind of proud of what I've managed to learn over the last year, why more people don't use that little HELP thing on most programs I don't understand, that's where I learned most of the stuff I know.
