Important Announcement: We have two terrific contests running on the site that I wanted all our members and guests to know about.

The first contest is the HP Magic Giveaway, which is underway as of November 28th. More information can be found at this topic, which will be updated very soon with further information.

The second contests, is for the chance to win two Seagate FreeAgent external hard drives. More information about this contest can be found here.

I have a question regarding "Auto Updates".I am sure somebody will know the answer.
I have set the Auto Update to run every morning at 9 AM.To me that means @ 9 am Updates are downloaded and installed on my computer, if available, without me having to do anything other than to ensure that i am connected to the internet. But no in order to receive updates I have to check for updates manually and i only know if they are available if i look on COU.
Perhaps i have misunderstood what Auto updates means.
Thanks.
Philip

I have been thinking,I do that occasionally,my problem with updates maybe self induced.Perhaps someone will advise.
I have just remembered i blocked an Active X application because i was uncertain of what it was.It has been unblocked now that i understand a little better.
We shall see what happens next update time.
