I wanted to upload some video to youtube but I found that since I use VLC media player (I've found it supports a wider variety of formats) all of the video is in .vob format. This is unsupported by Adobe Premier.

My question how can I either change the file's format, make adobe premier support the file or find a cheap alternative to adobe for media editing?

Thanks in advance.

VOB is the container format for DVD-video. Usually when you rip a DVD you take it out of the VOB format at the same time. Just try changing the extension from .vob to .mpg .
