BleepingComputer.com: Internet Sharing Problem

hello guys,
i have two NIC's installed on my PC runing vista ultimate, i am using one to get me connected to the internet and the othe to connect to my laptop.

at first internet sharing was working and i was able to use internet on my laptop, but now whenever i go to the connection Propreties to enable internet sharing it gives me:
"An erroe occured while Internet connection sharinf was enabled.
(null). "

any idea how to identify the problem? i already ran the diagnosis and everything seems to be fine.

how can i ask mcrosoft ppl about this issue?

We'll need some info about your connection to see what's going on. Run these commands (making sure that both computers are on and connected):

Go to Start, then type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of that box will appear a file named cmd.exe. Right click on it and select "Run as Administrator"
Type this into the Cmd box that opens: ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt
and press Enter.

Then open Windows Explorer and locate the file ipconfig.txt in the root of the C: drive. Open it with Notepad, select all of the text and then select Copy. Paste this text into your next post and we'll see what's going on.

as said in the 1st link u gave me, i went to services.msc ant made all the services mentioned in the link Start Automaticly at startup most of them weher set to manual start.
when i was tryin to Start the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager it gave me the following error:
"Windows could not start the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service on Local Computer
Error 1722:The RPC server is unavailable"

note:the RPC service is running.

does this error have anything to do with ICR?

What OS is installed on the laptop? I'm not familiar with "ICR", could you explain that please? I'm presuming that this is a dialup connection and not a DSL connection - am I correct?

As you can see, there's a gazillion reasons for this error to occur - so let's troubleshoot them one by one.

First step would be to ensure that File and Printer Sharing is enabled on each system.

Also, try disabling IPv6 and disabling the DHCP Broadcast flag using this article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233

I'm guessing that there's a problem with communications between the 2 NIC's - but can't quite figure out what it is (I'm not very familiar with ICS).

Perhaps the simplest fix would be to purchase a router to connect the 2 PC's to and let it do the worrying about controlling the signals. While dialup routers are somewhat hard to find, DSL routers are very common and will connect directly to the DSL modem.

sorry usama, i meant by ICR , ICS , typing mistake. my connection is wireless. i have an antena on the roof from wish an ethernet cable goes down to my pc to the first NIC.
ICS used to work perfectly fine i just stoped it for some reason and when i was tryin to set it on again it stoped working.
i'm gona try the links u gave me.
what about runing a proxy program on my PC??

well i downloaded CCProxy v.c and i was able to share my connection, but still it would be nice to know why there is a problem in my ICS

Well, I'm not familiar with ICS either! I would expect that a router (or even a hub or switch) would be a more easily worked solution for you.
