I use this list of programs and scanners to check for malware and clean my computer. Is this a good routine?

ATF Cleaner
CCleaner
Disk Clean-up
Disk Defrag
AVG (Safe mode)
ZoneAlarm
Combo Fix
MWav
Sophos Anti-Rootkit

Yes if you have time to preform them. I would Update Windows first.

I would change the order somewhat:---

Install pending Windows critical updates.
Install any application updates.
Run your resident anti-malware scans.
Run one on-line scan (you can vary which one each time)
Perform any file maintenance (deletions in particular) as well as disk cleanup.
Run checkdisk and then defrag. This should be your final step.
