I have a net bootdisk where I can boot my computer without any Windows and connect to the network.

I was wondering whether is there any command for DOS to share out my printer and connect by WinXP users ?

Do you wish to use that boot disk or are you experimenting to see if it can be done? What is the name of the network boot disk?

Ya, I just wanna know whether it can be done without Windows and how. All I know is I can share other's printer but not very sure whether can share out my printer.

It doesn't have any names for the bootdisk. I just downloaded from the net.

What was the name of the program you downloaded?
I believe the problem you willrun into is the print drivers will have to be written for DOS. Almost no printers have DOS drivers written for them anymore. There is just not that much of a demand, except for some specialize dot matrix and thermal printers.
I am not saying it will not work I just believe you will be limited with which printers you will get to work.

Net BootDisk
As for the printer driver for DOS, I think it shouldn't be a problem cause I'm using EPSON FX-2180 :flowers:
All I need is the command to share out the printer.

Thanks acklan for all the replies

IT can be done. As long as you dont have a host printer.
If you print from dos you will have to use a dos Print.sys file.
You will only be able to print text. I’ve done it before with a
Linksys router.
I don’t remember how I did it, I lost my bootdisk with the setup.
I would ask dos experts on
http://computing.net/
forum. That’s wear I got my information. These are some Sick Dos guys!
