both programs installed in their default directories... When spyblaster told me it didn't detect firefox, i took action... I then re-installed firefox and spyblaster, this time installing spyblaster first still... spyblaster is not detecting my firefox!  it does detect my IE6 any solutions or suggestions anyone? I'm using WinXP Pro SP1 other proggies used: Ad-Aware 6 build 181 -personal TPF 5.5.1332 Avast! Pro 4.1 Adsgone 4.2 (i don't like the newer ones) thanx in advanced!

Firefox is not vulnerable to hijacking so it doesn't need a spyware utility. Spyblaster will not be compatible.

The new version of Mozilla Firefox .09 broke its compatibility with spywareblaster. We will just have to wait for a new version of Spywareblaster to come out.
Raw is correct in stating that Mozilla based browsers will not get spyware, but Spywareblaster does stop Firefox from accepting known tracking cookies so it is worth using when it gets fixed. -------------------- |

Thanks for all your imput. I didn't realize that Firefox was immune to ActiveX attacks...
I've never liked IE and i used to use Netscape until it became bloated and unstable. I'd used Opera until 7.5 when it didn't seem as stable as prior release. BTW, does anyone have a download link for Opera 7.23? That, to me, was their last good release. Sorry for putting this in the wrong thread. I'll try to be more careful next time.  Oh, one more thing. Does anyone know where I can get an older release of ICQ at? I've tried the new one and it's a respource hog and not to mention it's owned by AOL. so I'm looking for: Opera 7.23 Link Older ICQ client (maybe 2000a) Thanx again

 Thanx this leads me to my next question... how did you find those? Do i need special FTP program to find FTP, and do you know of any that accept uploads? sorry to be such a botheration. Thanx again!

I found them by basically knowing how companies operate on the Internet. Crummy answer but theonly one I have. Most software companies in the past had all their versions of their software, if it was free, available by ftp. We got lucky and these two companies still do the same.
To download the files you can use Internet explorer. To upload you will need an FTP program. Look on www.tucows.com for a listing of popular ones. As for ftp sites that you can upload to , there are none that are available for free that I know of. -------------------- |

Earlier this week I succeeded (eventually) in getting Firefox and SpywareBlaster to play nicely together - I d/loaded Firefox 0.9.2, then SpywareBlaster 3.2, and Firefox is recognised by it. Doing it the other way round didn't seem to work, and I had to uninstall and start again.
So far all is well.... Luci2a
