Splitting One Monitor Between 2 Pcs?

Is it possible to make it so that if you have one big monitor, you can split the screen in half, and have one half show one computer and the other half show the other at the same time? Does it need any special hardware, software, or video cards?

No, not to my knowledge. the closest thing to that is using a KVM switch like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817107407
