20th April 2007

Greetings My Friends,

I need some technical advice.

I would like to get some kind of software that would give me complete protection from Viruses, spyware, malware etc.
Is there one software that I can use, or do I need different packages for different types of malware?

Every software producing company boasts that its product is number one, so naturally I am confused like most other computer users.
At present I am using A.V.G. Free 7.5,SuperAntiSpyware,Spybot Search and Destroy and Winpatrol by Bill P. Studios but I am not really satisfied with them. How good are these anyway?
In spite of them I got infected twice.

Please Advise.

With Thanks.

Sincerely,

John Gomes

Unfortunately no such package exists. You are better off having a range of packages that each perform their individual function well.

As to why you got infected, that also depends on your computer usage habits, and not just the protection software you use.

I've never used Winpatrol but the other applications you list are all good in my opinion.

hi John Gomes
I might only add Spyware blaster from BC's list here , Freeware Replacements For Common Commercial Apps
Also I don't see a firewall mentioned. So I'll recommend Comodo Firewall, also in the list.

I also reccommend real-time monitoring protection so that your computer will be safe at anytime smile.gif
You will have to consider buying a premium version of the anti-malware product
For me,I use Trend Micro Internet Security 2006
Just be sure that you have sufficient memory to keep things running smooth
