Hey gadailey,
there is no best anti-spy anti-virus. Are you looking for Freeware, or Payware? There is heaps of good freeware programs here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.html Regards, Yourhighness -------------------- - "How did I get infected?" - "Safe-hex" - Member of UNITE - - The HJT forum is very busy. I guess what I mean by "best" is one that is legitimate, that works well and doesn't put unnecessary junk on my computer. One that doesnt slow down browsing.
Freeware would be great. I've looked and found a few, but they are all starting to look the same. Was hoping for some advice from someone who had found a product they were happy with. |

Hi gadailey,
I have a router and as already mentioned kerio 2.15 firewall. I do not use antivirus software, but I always suggest Avira Antivir. Also suggested by myself: spywarebalster and spywareguard. There is more out there. It just really depends what you do with your pc and what level of security you have. In my opinion, if you do a bit of safe hex, you save yourself a lot of trouble. rgds. No single product is 100% foolproof and can detect and remove all threats at any given time. The security community is in a constant state of change as new malware infections appear. Each vendor has its own definition of what constitutes spyware and scanning your computer using different criteria will yield different results. The fact that each program has its own definition files means that some malware may be picked up by one that could be missed by another. Thus, a layered defense using several products (including an effective firewall) to supplement your anti-virus and scanning in"safe mode" provides the most complete protection.
