i have xp pro and installed norton internet security 2007. i have had nothing but trouble and error messages. previous versions of norton posed no problem. i have since removed it and am relying on spyware doctor with the antivirus upgrade. i want to install norton 2007 to my new vista laptop but am worried similiar trouble will occur. vista recommends extra security measures. is norton ok for vista. do i need an upgrade from symantec for vista. is there a better security system than norton (especially for vista)?

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer!,
In my opinion the best security software is that which you can get for free. Here's what I would use on your Vista PC:

- AVG Antivirus Free
- Spybot Search & Destroy
- Lavasoft AdAware SE Personal
- CCleaner
- PC Tools Firewall Plus

All of the above programs work well with Vista and keep your PC running securly. Norton is garbage.... get rid of it.

Hope I helped,
Jesse
