Unwanted Internet Explorer Pages

I just purchased a new computer on april 10,it came with vista,I do not know if vista is part of the problem or not.the problem is whenever I open internet explorer and go to a web page after a few minutes I get several pages opened by internet explorer now I have a pop up blocker which seems to catch popups but it never gets these pages .......just about every page that opens is a google page please help me find a way to get rid of these pages.in the time It took online to type this message three of these pages have opened

I'm not sure of the problem...but you might take a look at this link and configure IE 7 as described here:

Ty Jcee but I have already been to that site and they have no fix for my problem.I have configured my tabs and home page but I still can't find the reason why these page keep opening now to make matters worse my programs are disappearing from my desktop I started my computer this morning and my window media player is gone.it's not in my program list eitherfor some reason the only way I can access it is by going to music and manually selecting a song

Well Jacee I don't have to worry about the browser opening now I unistalled the crappy norton that came with my comp and went panda antivirus thats the anti virus on my old comp but it works and fixed all the problems if ya have any answers on how to get my media player back for vista that would be cool

Have you tried to set your 'Default' programs from the Control Panel?

In Default Programs, you can:

Set your default programs. Use this option to choose which programs you want
Windows to use by default. If you want to use your media player to open all
media files, use this option.

The options you set here only apply to your user account. Your choices won't
affect other user accounts on the computer. To change program access for all
users on this computer, see Change default programs using Set Program Access
and Computer Defaults.

tyty jacee I finally found my media player it was deep in my program files I still don't know why all my shortcuts and Icons for media player disappeared but I got em back manually.
