I have windows 98 and IE 5. I can't get to certain websites that are secure auch as Paypal, my online bank account and so forth. I downloaded IE 6 but the icon on my desktop still says IE 5. I was told by my internet provider, comcast, that certain websites might not open because I have IE 5 and not IE 6. Is this true? I don't understand it because this just started happening about three weeks ago. Any suggestions? My computer is a Compaq Presario 1670 if that makes a difference.

Thanks,
Mar4

Hi mar, IE5 is no longer supported by some web sites. Deleate the IE 5 short cut on your desktop and go to start>programs and locate IE 6.

Download and install Internet Explorer 6 with Service Pack 1 from here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/do...p1/default.mspx
Last supported version for 98
Broadband Internet connection recommended
In the beginning there was the command line.
