Hey, I need your help. My friends use LimeWire a lot and I would love to use Limewire to download music and use it but there has been word that Limewire has a virus in it so I am afraid to download it. is there any way to not get the virus and still be able to download from Limewire? I currently have Norton AntiVirus 2004, and i just updated it. If this is not enough, i might get a antivirus from a store so which one do you reccommend? please reply quickly! thanks a lot smile.gif

It's not the Limewire so much as it's the "payload". Meaning it's not the service, it's what you download thats corrupted with malware, quite often.

So if I scan all the songs I download, and delete the infected files, will I be safe? and is there a way to download any song without getting any viruses?

No, but you will be safER. At least from viruses, but not enforcers of the law of the land.

and is there a way to download any song without getting any viruses?

Download from legitimate sites instead of using P2P.

Regards,
John

just right click on something you are about to download or already downloaded ( in the limewire window) and choose scan with bitzi. That will tell you whether it is legit or not. And you should always scan everything you download before opening it, thats a given, not just for music.
