I have an Intel Pentium 166 MHz w/MMX Computer that uses Windows 98. While trying to access a web site I noticed this error message: "ERROR! JavaScript is required to use this site!" I then downloaded and installed JRE (Java Runtime Environment), Version 6, Update 1 for my Internet Explorer browser. I even customized my Security settings to enable Java scripting. But I am still seeing that red error message when I try to access that web site. The little Java coffee icon is in my Control Panel so I know it's on my system. But the web site I wanted to use does not recognize it. Could I have missed a step during the download/installation? What can I do to turn on or activate JavaScript for use on those web sites that require it? I was hoping to install JavaScript also on a second computer that uses Windows XP but I've got to solve this puzzle first. I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you.
