Old Laptop Boot Problems need help booting my old laptop

can someone just give me step by step instructions on how to completly wipe my hard drive and do a complete install of windows 98, using a floppy?

I would start with a Quick Wipe using Kill Disk. This will insure any malware is destroyed. Then partition and format the drive using Fdisl from a DOS boot floppy. You can make one from windows or download one from BootDisk.com.
