Please Help Me My Me Wont Detect Any Hardware

my windows me won't detect any hardware during setup it gets to 7% then exits when setup is done so my me has 640x480 with 16 colours with no cd-rom it should me 800x600 with 16bit colours and a 2 cd-roms

i been meaning to get a new one for a while the current one is dead but windows 98se works
