I know this may have been ask before, but what is the best anti-virus out there at the moment?

I'm looking for something that don't take up a lot of resources.
At the moment I'm using avg7, the free version. But not sure if its doing as good as job as many others out there.

Hi TONY L,
You can have a look thru' this Anti-Virus Comparison to get an idea how they are all performing.
If you are concerned about resources, my experience with Norton products is that they are a huge resource hog.

You could try Nod32, this is light on resources and has a good reputation.

I would recommend AVG Anti-Malware (antivirus and antispyware) or the Internet Security Suite, which I use. The free versions of AVG antivirus and antispyware are very good also, some other choices to check out are DrWeb antivirus, F-prot antivirus and NOD32.

NOD32's spyware protection, though not yet on a par with its antivirus capability...is a good choice if you want one tool to provide your antivirus and primary antispyware protection.
