I have a wireless desktop and a wireless laptop how do I share folders, files, movies, and music from one to the other ?

I would recommend you use a router. If you do not wish to go that route then set your wifi cards in "Ad Hoc" mode. You can use Windows ICS if you are runnig XP.

I do have a router and both computers are getting internet connection from it

You will need to setup file sharing on each computer. Since these computers are already sharing a LAN sharing files and\or printers should not be so hard.

this is for xp profetional and I have home edition
