I accidently deleted Java off my computer, because I had update number 5 (newest one is update number 11) and I heard number 5 was exploitable. So I completely removed Java through the add/remove programs feature. Then I went to Java.com to download the latest Java JRE. But, everytime after I download, and I try to install it, it says "preparing to install," then this message pops up: "this installation package could not be opened. verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package." I had no idea that if I removed Java, it would be such a pain to get it back.

And I tried searching the faqs at Java.com, but it is no help. I've also tried downloading several different version, both online and off versions, and none of it works. I don't know how to get Java back on my computer, please help!

And remember, I know nothing about computers, so assume I know nothing, and explain every step please, thank you.

Oh, and I use Internet Explorer, that's all I know as far as that.
