BleepingComputer.com: Email With No "from" Information

Like a dummy, I opened an email with no return address. The email only had a date. There was no "From" line, no "Subject" and nothing in the body.

Could I have opened something bad, like a Trojan, or worm, or something like that?

I know this was dumb, to open this email.

I hesitate to forward this email anywhere for inspection, because I may contribute to the spread of this.

Is there some way for me to find out where this came from?

I haven't read where malware was sent in blank email. It would be best though to assume it is malicious and run some scans. I included two programs to use. The rule is to never open an email that you don't recognize who sent it. Even that rule is not 100% safe. Have you attempted to delete it? Any problem deleting it?
It could be a just a bad transmission. Let us know if the scans find anything other than cookies.

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

You should be able to expand the E-mail header and see if there is adequate information there about the originator of the E-mail. Certainly deleting any suspicious E-mail without opening it is best from a computer security viewpoint.
