I was having problems with my Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router. I went and bought a new faster router, figured it was time for an upgrade. I'm having similar problems with the new router. I can set it up to run an open configuration, but I can not get it to connect with security enabled. I've tried all the options, and each time end up resetting the router, and going through the install process again, as I am unable to even hardwire into the router after enabling security. I notice it kicking of and reconnecting often as well. WTF am I doing wrong here? I would jump to the conclusion that my network card, Athenos 5005G isn't able to run security like WPA, but I did it for a year with no probems, until ast week or so.....what gives?

Which router did you purchase? It could be that WPA is not supported but WEP is?
