Hi Guys,
I have not done this very often, but could you tell me if I actually need to reinstall my whole system, when I install a New processor. Thank you.

Hello,

You shouldn't have to. I have replaced processors on numerous PCs and laptops, never had to reinstall anything.

If anything goes wrong, just put the old one back in.

Hope this helps

I agree, Luckyjfl -

especially if you replace it with the exact same processor.

However, it is possible that a specific different processor might require a BIOS upgrade to the board, for example.

It would help if you told us what systemboard you have, and what processor you have and what processor you want to install as a replacement.
