Someone Is Trying To Acess My Computer

how can I stop someone from trying to acess my computer?
I have a list of IP address from those who try to acess my computer,
Can you please tell me why they are trying to acess my computer,

I have the latest internet security and update my virus software everyday.
When I scan my computer for viruses , spyware etc nothing is found.
But why do people still try to acess my computer?
here is some of their IP addresses 61.68.122.233, 57144

Hello,

Are you on a network? if so it could be general chatter between two systems on the workgroup.

What firewall are you using? by any chance is it sygate? what warning are you receiving?

What makes you think that you are being hacked?

Hi eragoneragon.

Most of the people trying to access your PC are not doing it for a legitimate reason. As your scans come up clean, you would appear to have pretty good protection.

If you would like to check this for your own peace of mind, go to the 'goodies' at grc.com, scroll down to the ShieldsUp portion and run the tests there. It doesn't take long and you will get a full report on your PC's vulnerability or otherwise.

Your computer is not being specifically targeted. Someone somewhere is sending out "signals" looking for an unprotected computer. Your firewall is doing what it is supposed to do-keeping them out.
I do, however, encourage you to run ShieldsUp as suggested above.

thanks for the advice,

if my computer is not being specififcally targeted, how can I stop this in the fututre?

because everytime I am connected to the interent someone will be trying to access my computer,
my internet security keeps a record of all the IP addresses, i have like over a 100.

i get attacked from a new computer every 2 minutes, and they get blocked.
but stills its annoying.

Is their a way for me to tell them to @#$!*$ STOP??

i will use the shield thing suggested above,

what is sygate?

the warnings i'm getting is computer eg 61.68.122.233, 57144 is trying to access your computer, it gets block

This is the reason why I think I am being hacked.

WhoIs result Does this make any sense? Do you have any P2P applications running like Utorrent or azeurus since 57144 is the port which is commonly used by a P2P application as such?

@eragoneragon - basicly you can't stop it. There are always bad guys on the look out for unprotected computers. To be sure you can run the shieldsp as suggested by Rob and see what comes out. If you are not sure post the results and we will help you

I have checked the whois, it doesn't make any sense as I don't use any P2P stuff.

I guess there nothing I can really do.

I will try an use the shieldup thing.

As long as you're connected to the internet, there will be attemts to hack your computer.
There will always be people trying to find, vulnerable systems.
This, is a fact of life.

Think of them as a group of fishermen.
They are all, repeatedly, throwing their line out, trying to catch a fish (vulnerable system).
The more they throw that line out, the better the chances of catching fish.

It appears your firewall is doing it's job, by blocking these attempts.
As long your security is set up right,, and you use safe browsing practices, you have very little to worry about.

If you constantly get pop ups telling you someone is trying to access your computer, and it's driving you crazy, disable the notification. Which is what I do-my firewall will still log the attempts but I'm not informed of every one of them. IF I'm what to find out what has been blocked, I'll check the logs. Which I rarely do because I trust my firewall to do its job.
