Hi folks...I installed Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I noticed that it listens on some private ports. The port range is 49152-49157. I can't find info on why Vista uses these ports, anyone have an idea? I'm stuck using the Windows firewall untill someone comes out with a compatable firewall for Vista. I found this out with TCPView, nice little app!

These appear to be "ephemeral" (?SP) ports. What that is, I have no clue - but here's some links about it:

Thank you USASMA! I can't wait for a decent firewall to be available!
