Here is a link to the barebones kit I'm getting. In another post someone said to get either an asus, mci, or intel board. Well, the asus is the least expensive of those, but it has ddr 400 instead of ddr 2. Is this okay? Someone mentioned ddr2 and I didn't know if that was better. Cost is definitely an issue. Oh yeah, and are there any other upgrades on that page you would recommend? I don't need a hard drive or disk drive and I'll probably pick up memory elsewhere. Thanks.

DDR2 is faster, although the processor will usually be the bottleneck when it comes to gb/s bandwith due to the fsb. The only mobo that you listed there that won't support DDR2 is the ASUS P5PE-VM. If it were me, I'd go with either the MSI P965Neo-F or the Intel DG965SSCK as oldf@rt had said in your other post HERE. wink.gif
