Wow, I love the command and conquer series, and I've been waiting for this game to have a demo come out. The demos out and has anyone else played it? I'm loving it and I've just been playing the tutorial for 5 minutes
. The graphics are amazing, even work fine on medium settings and 1024x768, with my ATI Radeon x1300 PCI! Well I'm just wondering about everyone else thoughts on this game.

I tried to download the demo 5 times....when I finally got it downloaded, I double clicked it to extract it and it told me that it was corrupt due to file transfer error......
Could you provide the link that you downloaded it from, so that I can try it? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

I tried it out today. It's pretty fun...nothing new really, other than many more tweaks on the Generals engine. They did a good job for the most part. Old-school interface, new toys to play with.
Ironically, the much-maligned Tiberian Sun had more innovation in the sense that it introduced modular construction and sub-terranean units. But hey, the new game looks like a good combo of the positive elements of RA2 mixed with the storyline and units of the original game, all delivered via a snappy version of the Generals engine. Should be fun when we get the full game!
As far as unit balance, we’ll have to wait until the game ships. GDI looks pretty tough though. I will probably lean toward playing GDI…I always did in the past incarnations of the game.
My only visual complaint is that shadows look HORRIBLE unless they are on the max setting. AA would help I am sure, if you had the resources to crank it up. Moving shadows must be hard to produce...Earth 2160 has relatively poor looking shadows as well, which is sad, because that game is great looking other than that.
Anyway, C&C 3 runs ok on modest machines. I have all the settings on high, shadows on max, (AA off) at 1026x768 and it runs pretty smoothly. I have a p4 2.8 800 fsb, 2 gigs ram, and an AGP ATI X800 XT. Supreme Commander, by contrast, eats my computer alive.
C&C 3 is nothing new in terms of innovation. However, it looks like it will be a solid, fun game; not as good as SupCom, but I am sure it will still be a big front liner for lans everywhere!
Steve, I got it here with no problems.

I got it downloaded finally...don't remember which link I used though
I'd have to agree with locally pwned about the game....old school with new toys (although I only played it once!). I'll end up getting it when it comes out!

I ended up having to download it twice because I accidentally deleted the first one. I installed it, and when it's loading the
screen goes blue
. I want to play it so bad, but no, it won't work on my stupid 7 month old Windows XP computer.
