When I insert a hard drive into my swap drive before booting-up, the first screen that appears provides the following message:
"Press Key to Reboot'

After pressing 'any key' to reboot, two black-background windows flash by quickly with the following information:

The first of these two windows:

- 32MB Diamond Viper
- Audio card

The second of these two windows:

Bios version
Drives

The computer then returns to the initial window:
"Press Any Key to Reboot"
When I perform the last above action, it recycles
through the above sequence.

I have to remove the plug from the back of the computer
to shut it down.

To use the computer, it is necessary for me to remove the
swap drive.

Then the computer will boot up with the following window:

Bios Setup Utility Window:

In the Item Specific Help Box on the above window, the
following messge appears:
"During ghe last boot-up, your system hung for an improper
CPU Speed Setup. Your system is now working in the Safe
Mode.

To optimize the system performance and reliability, make sure
the CPU speed conforms to the specificatiohns of your CPU
When I exit this window, the computer then boots up successfully--
but, again....without the swap drive installed"

I wouuld be most grateful for any help you might provide me.

I have very little experience in handling computer 'gliches'.
However, I am usualy able to follow any outlined solutions
to problems when provided with a step-by-step outline.

Thank you.....
