i have only had my laptop for a week now, and i look after it with Ad-aware SE personal, Spybot and AVG (free edition). i have just noticed over the last 2-3 days that when i log on to windows an internet window opens saying "page cannot be displayed" although i dont have anything that i know of that should try to access the internet on start up. i copied the address and this is it,
http://gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url=http://www....=UK&synd=gd
the next time it did it i copied the address and it was different,
http://127.0.0.1:4664/loading_module&s...6yDcnE_YWQYKZho
anyone have any ideas whats on my system and why it wants to connect to the internet? escpecialy when the address's never seem to work. always "page cannot be displayed".

The 1st link appears to be a site that informs you of your ip address. My guess for that link is that it's setup to display the ip address whenever the computer goes online. Some people want to constantly monitor their ip address and see if their isp is assigning them static or dynamic ip addresses. This is just my guess, but it does tell me what my ip address is.
The 2nd link appears to be a local server.
Did you get the computer new or did you get it from someone? If you got it from someone, they may have been running a server, and that may be the reason why.
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone will be able to test out that link, because every computer is http://127.0.0.1... if setup as a server.
If your computer is used, look and see if you have these folders on your computer
c:\mysql
c:\php
c:\Program Files\Apache Group\
If so, then a server is on the computer. If not, then we'll need to do some digging into this further.
Also, what OS are you running? And give any other specs you can about your computer.

I'd be looking for some LabPixie gadgets installed if I we're you. The first link points right to it.
The links you posted are loading modules, which is apparently what these gadgets do.
Check Add\remove programs, msconfig, services, Browser Add-ons, Toolbar Add-Ons. It's auto-loading from somewhere.
"Google Gadgets" do the same thing.
